6) Return of the Jedi
In what was initially the finale to the saga, ’Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi’ was a well-rounded and satisfying way to wrap up George Lucas’ story.
Garnering an impressive 83% on the reviewing website, the movie sees Luke Skywalker become a fully-fledged Jedi with the ultimate mission to turn his father Darth Vader back to the Light Side.
Reflecting on the picture in 2008, George Lucas emphasised that the 1983 movie marked the end of the franchise for him.
He said: “I get asked all the time, ‘What happens after “Return of the Jedi”?,’ and there really is no answer for that. The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that’s where that story ends.”
