The 1977 movie currently sits at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, and its clear to see why.
From its whimsical story, to its iconic set of characters, to its groundbreaking effects that revolutionised cinema, ‘A New Hope’ truly is a near-perfect film. Still, that doesn’t mean everyone is a fan of it.
Sir Alec Guinness, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi, famously disliked the picture, labelling it “rubbish”.
Still, ‘A New Hope’ was, and still is, a cinematic marvel.
