Different ending

After test audiences responded well to the dastardly ghoul, Burton decided to film an epilogue that would give the flick a happier ending.

Earlier versions of the script saw Beetlejuice get stuck in the Maitlands' model town and get plagued by sandworms, though the director opted to shoot a final sequence that showed the spirit hassle a sawed-in-half woman before being hexed by a witch doctor.
