Burton’s special effects demand

While films like ‘Star Wars’, ‘Indiana Jones’ and ‘Back to the Future’ impressed audiences with their cutting-edge CGI, ‘Beetlejuice’ has a far more amateurish look and feel to it.

This was done purposefully though, as Burton wanted the picture to look like the B-movies he watched in his younger years.

He recalled: “I wanted to make them look cheap and purposely fake-looking.”
