Honours and reunion

Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, and in 2007, he received the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors for his contributions to the performing arts.

In 2004, Brian released a completed version of Smile, 37 years after it was first recorded.

He reunited with the Beach Boys for their 50th anniversary tour in 2012, dedicating it to the memory of his brothers Dennis, who drowned in 1983, and Carl, who died of cancer in 1998.
