Dropping Landy and going solo

Brian Wilson re-entered Eugene Landy’s therapy programme in the early 1980s, and while his health improved, the psychologist exploited his dependence, isolating him from friends and family. Landy even persuaded Brian to credit him as a producer on his 1988 solo debut Brian Wilson.

In 1991, Brian’s family filed a lawsuit, ending their partnership and securing a restraining order against Landy.
