The Hasbro franchise launched in 1984 and line of toy robots that could change into an alternate form (vehicles such as cars and planes, miniature guns or cassettes, animals or dinosaurs. The line quickly became one of the best-selling toys of all time and inspired a string of big-screen movies, the first of which was released in 1986.
