The Game Boy was Nintendo's first ever handheld gaming device and featured games such as 'Tetris' and 'Super Mario' in black-and-white. It sold 40,000 units were sold on its first release day and sold a total of one million before the year was out.

More than 118.69 million units of the Game Boy and its successor, the Game Boy Color, have been sold worldwide.
