These cloth dolls were first produced by Coleco Industries in 1982 and set every toy industry sales record for three years running, becoming one of the most popular lines of children’s licensed products in the 1980s. In 1984 alone, they generated $2bn in revenue worldwide and were inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2003.
