Joining the Faces and meeting Ronnie Wood
While his time in The Jeff Beck Group wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, it was there that Stewart met his best friend Ronnie Wood, and in 1969, he joined the the Faces on his pal’s request.
The group - which also included members Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones - were a hit with fans thanks to their raucous rock tunes such as 'Stay With Me’, which reached number six in the UK Singles Chart in 1971.
However, in 1975, Rod left the band to focus on his solo career.
As for Ronnie, the guitarist joined The Rolling Stones as their new six-string player that same year. He is still a member of the group now.
