Harry Styles in The Little Mermaid

Harry Styles made his movie debut in Christopher Nolan's 2017 war epic 'Dunkirk' and has since gone to appear in the likes of 'My Policeman' and 'Don't Worry Darling'.

As well as these flicks, the former One Direction singer could have featured in the live-action remake of ‘The Little Mermaid’ (2023) but decided against playing Prince Eric because he wished to work on "darker" projects.

Director Rob Marshall recalled: "We met with him. He was lovely. What a wonderful guy.

"But at the end of the day, he really felt like he wanted to go off and do the movies that he ended up doing, which were sort of darker."

Jonah Hauer-King was later cast in the role and starred in the movie alongside Halle Bailey.
