Taskmaster announces two huge live shows for UK and US fans
Taskmaster star Alex Horne has described the announcement as "one of the maddest moments" of his life.
Taskmaster has announced two huge live shows in the UK and US for 2027.
The hit Channel 4 show, which has found an audience in the United States thanks to its YouTube channel, is returning to its live event roots as Greg Davies and Alex Horne front two blockbuster shows.
The duo will star in Taskmaster: Live On Stage, which is coming to Manchester's AO Arena for UK fans on May 26.
The following month, on June 22, the chaotic show heads to the Hollywood Bowl, which follows its sold out US tour across Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC and New York earlier this year.
Each of the two nights will include a lineup of celebrity guests taking part as contestants, as Taskmaster embraces its origin as a live show at the Edinburgh Fringe.
The US tour saw the likes of Seth Meyers, John Oliver, and Jason Mantzoukas take to the stage as contestants.
Taskmaster creator Alex Horne said: "This is one of the maddest moments of my life.
"For me the Hollywood Bowl means Monty Python and the Manchester Arena means Oasis. Now it's our turn?! Luckily I'm with my biggest friend Greg so I'm going to be so brave."
The Hollywood Bowl, which has a capacity of over 17,000, was the site of Monty Python's 1982 concert film.
Greg added: "I am thrilled that my tiny assistant and I are to bring Taskmaster to such illustrious venues.
"Whilst on one hand it feels daunting, on the other it feels like destiny.
"Rest assured my judgements will remain even handed and every effort will be made for everyone to have a good time, except Alex."
Taskmaster's 22nd series is currently airing in the UK on Channel 4, featuring Chloe Petts, Isy Suttie, Matt Lucas, Nina Conti and Richard Ayoade.
Channel 4 has commissioned six further series of Taskmaster over three years, as well as New Year and Champion of Champion specials.
The broadcaster's Tom Beck previously said: "Taskmaster is the most creative, funny and frankly ludicrous show on telly; I’m delighted to enable their silly brilliance for another three years."
Alex added: "I’m pleased and quite stressed that I’ve got to come up with a lot more tasks for a lot more comedians but the thought of three more years in Greg’s deep embrace is soothing my little head."
While Greg commented: "I am delighted the comedian meat grinder remains open for business. I look forward to gleefully keeping it fed with the help of a small, introverted man that I own.”
