Madonna in The Matrix

As well as her incredible music career, Madonna has starred in a number of major Hollywood movies and ‘The Matrix’ could have been on that list too.

The star had actually been offered the chance appear in the sci-fi classic alongside Keanu Reeves and Lawrence Fishburne, though decided to reject it - much to her chagrin.

She said: "I turned down the role in ‘The Matrix’.

"Can you believe that? That’s, like, one of the best movies ever made. A teeny-tiny part of me regrets just that one moment in my life."

While the role she turned down was never confirmed, it was presumably the part of Trinity which was taken by Carrie-Anne Moss.
