John Krasinski in Captain America: The First Avenger
Chris Evans became one of the MCU's most popular actors in the role of Captain America but he faced some fierce competition for the role.
Before the star landed the part, John Krasinski had auditioned to play the star-spangled hero, and even tried on the suit, though ultimately decided he wasn’t up to the part after realising his physique couldn't compete with his superhero counterpart Chris Hemsworth.
He recalled: "They allowed me to put on the suit, I was on a set. It was all very interesting.
"I remember the only bummer was, I was putting on the suit, I was like, ‘This is so amazing’, and I got about right to my waist my waist, still shirtless and feeling pretty good about myself … and all of a sudden Chris Hemsworth walked by."
