Batman (1989)
As arguably one of the most important movies in the superhero genre, ‘Batman’ scores a respectable 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Starring Michael Keaton as the Dark Knight, the movie follows the hero as he tries to stop the Joker (Jack Nicholson) who is hellbent on wrecking havoc on Gotham City. The film was a critical and box office success and set the template for future comic book films.
Reflecting on the 1989 movie, Jack revealed that there was only one reason he agreed to play the Clown Prince of Crime, and that was the director Tim Burton.
He said: “Tim Burton's a genius, that's why I did the movie. I did the movie based on a single conversation with him."
