The Conjuring is “based on a true story”, but not everything made it to the screen accurately.
For instance, in reality, Ed Warren was not authorised to perform exorcisms, despite doing so in the movie.
Lorraine clarified that Ed’s role was more about documenting cases and helping to bring in priests when needed.
