Though Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga now feel irreplaceable, they weren’t the only actors considered to play the Warrens.

James Wan reportedly met with several other names before deciding on Wilson and Farmiga, with the former actor having worked with the director on his 2010 horror flick Insidious.

The filmmaker praised Wilson and Farmiga and later said: “They brought a real warmth and humanity to the Warrens.”
