A sad farewel
Having played the calm and collected Charon since the franchise’s inception in 2014, Lance Reddick’s passing on March 17, 2023 left a massive hole in the ‘John Wick’ series.
‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ became the late actor’s final completed movie role in his lifetime before his death at the age of 60, which was caused by coronary artery disease and atherosclerotic heart disease.
However, ’John Wick: Chapter 4’ isn’t the last time fans will see Reddick’s Charon, as the character is also set to appear for the final time in the Ana de Armas-starring spin-off ‘Ballerina’ in 2025.
Ian McShane - who worked with Reddick in the ‘John Wick’ series as New York Continental head Winston - paid tribute to his late co-star, saying he would “miss [him] dreadfully”.
McShane said of Reddick: “I thought we made a really good double act, as we say, in a sense. It was great, his relationship is different to mine with Keanu's character.
“My moments with him, I think, I'll remember [most].”
