Stair fight secrets
While the Arc de Triomphe fight and the top-down battle scene were impressive, the stair fight outside Sacré-Coeur is perhaps the best action sequence in the entire ‘John Wick’ franchise.
The scene - which sees John Wick (Reeves), Caine (Donnie Yen) and Tracker (Shamier Anderson) battle their way up the steep stairwell against a horde of attackers - was filmed over seven nights, with the crew sometimes having to wait for Sacré-Coeur's funicular, carrying tourists up the incline, to pass.
Reeves had performed the entire sequence for himself, apart from the initial moment where he is kicked down the entire starcase.
As for the stunt performers, a total of 35 people battled Wick as he climbed further and further up the stairs.
Hilariously, stunt coordinator Scot Rogers estimated every actor had been taken out by Wick five or six times each.
By the end of the shoot, Reeves made T-shirts for all the stuntmen, which were embellished with the number of times they were neutralised by Wick - with some having more than 20 deaths!
