Magical and adventurous, ‘Willow’ is a beloved fantasy epic filled with heart, humour, and thrilling action.

Starring Warwick Davis and Val Kilmer, the 1988 picture follows a humble farmer who embarks on a perilous journey to protect a prophesied baby from an evil queen, with the help of a roguish warrior.

Kilmer’s roguish hero Madmartigan was due to return for the 2022 Disney+ series ‘Willow’, though the actor had to be written out of the show due to his health struggles following his battle with throat cancer.

Showrunner Jonathan Kasdan explained: “We really wanted Val to come be in the show, and Val really wanted to come out and be in the show.

“I remember going to see Val right after this thing started to get some momentum, and I said, ‘Listen, we're doing this. And the whole world wants Madmartigan back.’ And he was like, ‘Not as much as I do.’”
