Top Gun

‘Top Gun’ is as every bit campy and fun as it is heartfelt and charming, and Val Kilmer certainly shines in the action-packed blockbuster.

The 1986 flick follows hotshot Navy pilot Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell (Tom Cruise) as he competes against the best of the best at an elite fighter school while grappling with love, rivalry, and personal demons.

Kilmer’s Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansy - Maverick’s skilled and disciplined rival - was a stand-out highlight of ‘Top Gun’, with the actor bringing intensity and cool confidence to the role.

Looking back at the movie, Kilmer later admitted: “I didn’t want the part, but every boy wants to fly - I ended up having a blast.”
