Poltergeist (1982)

Tobe Hooper's movie follows the Freelings, a typical suburban family who are plagued by spirits who wishes to claim the soul of five-year-old Carol Anne - played by Heather O'Rourke.

Following the film's completion the cast were seemingly cursed.

Mere months after the movie was released, Dominique Dunne, who played Carol Ann's sister Dana, was strangled by her deranged ex-boyfriend in October 1982.

Heather, who was only 12 at the time, died of septic shock in February 1988.
