The Shining (1980)
Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of Stephen King's supernatural novel suffered a strange incident that shocked all the cast and crew.
The set still photographer said: "There a huge fire in there one night, massive fire, we never really discovered what caused that fire and it burned down two sound stages and threatened a third at Elstree Studios.
"It was an eleven alarm fire call, it was huge."
At the end of the book, the haunted Overlook Hotel is written to be engulfed in a fire that destroys it.
