Terrence Howard
When 'Iron Man' was released in 2008 it was a major box office success, mainly thanks to Robert Downey Jr's portrayal of the man in the suit Tony Stark and Terrence Howard's performance as his best friend, US Air Force Officer James Rhodes.
For the sequel, Terrence Howard demanded that his fee was increased from the $4.5 million he received for the first film, the highest salary of any cast member.
Marvel bosses refused and instead recast the role of Rhodes.
Don Cheadle landed the part and played Rhodes in 2010’s ‘Iron Man 2’ and beyond in the MCU.
