Reinventing the film score
Having regularly collaborated since 2005's 'Batman Begins', Nolan wanted composer Hans Zimmer to give him more for 'Interstellar'.
So, the director chose not to provide the musician with any story or plot details about the flick and instead only provided a single page of text which details the feel of the film.
One of the aspects Zimmer noticed the description focused on quite heavily was time and he opted to write the majority of his tracks with the tempo of one beat per second to reflect its passage.
