Initially, ‘Footloose’ had a far cheekier title ... literally.

‘Cheek to Cheek’ was what the 1984 movie was originally titled, though it didn’t stay that way for long.

During a conversation with director Herbert Ross, Kevin Bacon pitched that a fight scene should instead be replaced with dance sequence.

The actor said: “I gotta dance, I wanna get footloose."

Herbert loved the phrase, so much, that not only did he agree to the dancing suggestion, but the director also changed the name of the movie.
