‘Footloose’ is perhaps Kevin Bacon’s most well-known movie, but the actor actually wasn’t the studio’s first choice to play Ren McCormack.

In fact, both Kevin Costner and Rob Lowe had auditioned for the role, though both were ultimately rejected.

After watching his stellar performance in ‘Risky Business’, Tom Cruise was also on the studio’s wish list, though he too turned the film down in favour for ‘All the Right Moves’.

Kevin Bacon eventually won over Paramount Pictures, and the rest is history.
