Just like Kevin Bacon, ‘Footloose’ was also Sarah Jessica Parker’s big break, but that very nearly wasn’t the case.

The role of Ariel Moore’s friend Rusty Rodriguez had been written with Tracy Nelson - Sarah’s ‘Square Pegs’ co-star - in mind, though the director ultimately opted to offer the role to the ‘Sex and the City’ actress instead.

Even so, Sarah decided to pass on the role once she was told her hair would need to be cut and dyed red.

Luckily, the studio changed their minds about the necessary look and the actress signed on.
