Madonna’s audition

Before Lori Singer was cast as Ariel Moore in the flick, Madonna was in serious contention for the part.

The studio eventually decided against the pop superstar, and also weren’t satisfied with Michelle Pfeiffer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jodie Foster, Rosanna Arquette, Meg Ryan, and Bridget Fonda, instead opting to offer the role to Daryl Hannah instead.

However, the actress turned the role down in favour to star in ‘Splash’ with Tom Hanks, allowing Lori to swoop in and snag the part.
