The 1930s
Batman made his comic book debut in 1939 in Bob Kane’s ‘Detective Comics #27'.
But Batman did not appear the way we know him today. Instead of black, his suit was bright red and adorned with two wings. This version of the superhero came swinging in on a rope. Bill Finger, shortly after, established the name Bruce Wayne and changed Batman into an outfit more similar to the one we recognize him in now.
