The 2000s saw animated series ‘The Batman’ appear, winning six Emmys, alongside the 12-part comic series titled ‘Hush,’ written by Jeph Loeb.
Warner Bros. decided to reboot Batman on the big screen with Christopher Nolan helming a gritty and realistic new trilogy.
It kicked off in 2005 with the release of ‘Batman Begins, which saw Christian Bale telling the story of Bruce Wayne's evolution into Batman.
In 2008, ‘The Dark Knight,’ had its theatrical release, becoming one of the highest grossing films of all time and earning Heath Ledger a posthumous Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker.
The series ended in 2012 with 'The Dark Knight Rises', which saw face-off against Tom Hardy's Bane.
