The start of a music marriage made in heaven

As a teenager Tina frequently attended the nightclubs in St. Louis with her sister, which is where she first laid eyes on Ike Turner who was performing with his band the Kings of Rhythm.

Entranced by his performance, Tina asked Ike if he would let het sing in his band.

It wasn’t until Tina pulled the microphone out of drummer Eugene’s hand and belted out B.B. King blues ballad, 'You Know I Love You' that Turner took an interest and made her a featured vocalist.
