Beverley Callard treated herself to Botox after reaching a big milestone in her early-stage breast cancer battle.

The Coronation Street legend - who publicly revealed her heartbreaking diagnosis on February 6 - is thrilled that she does not need a second operation after she had two lymph nodes removed as a precaution to ensure the cancer does not spread.

In her latest health update video, shared to Instagram on Wednesday (04.03.26), Beverley - who has been married to Jon McEwan since 2010 - said: "Well, today has been a great day.

"I got to the hospital this morning at 9am and, obviously, I was nervous.

"Jon came in with me this time because, if you remember last week, I really didn't want him to come in when they took my dressings off for the first time.

"Anyway, I saw my consultant, Adeline, who is truly amazing, and she says I do not need to have the second operation."

The 68-year-old actress was left with "quite a big haematoma" under her arm following the lymph node operation at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on February 20.

And the "three inches long and one-and-a-half inches wide" haematoma has "begun to soften", meaning "it's turning into fluid now, and it will slowly just release into my system and then out of my system".

Beverley now needs to wait "about four weeks" find out if she is cancer-free - which the star "has a feeling I will be" - and if the disease was in her lymph nodes or not.

However, if the worst happened, the actress - who previously said that doctors are "pretty sure that [the cancer] is not in the lymph nodes" - would "cross that bridge when we get to it".

But if Beverley is cancer-free, the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! 2020 campmate can "begin radiotherapy" a few weeks later, and can return to work on Fair City.

Beverley - who got her heartbreaking early-stage breast cancer diagnosis 20 minutes before filming her first scenes in the Dublin-based soap - said: "It means that I will be doing all the PR stuff in London on Sunday and Monday.

"Come back Tuesday, and then Thursday, I go back to Dublin and Saturday, I begin working on Fair City again.

"I'm dying for my scripts to come. I can't wait."

To celebrate the milestone in her early-stage breast cancer battle, Beverley - who plays Lily, the long-lost mum of Carrigstown resident Gwen, played by co-star Emily Lamey, in Fair City - got her roots done and had some Botox.

And from behind the camera, Jon chimed in: "Do you know why? Because you're a f****** warrior, aren't you? You really are."

After laughing, Beverley added: "And do you know what, any woman who is going through this, we are all f****** warriors.

"And I hope you get good news as well, and please keep on sending me your messages, and I will try and reply to everyone. I am really trying.

"And I wish everybody so much love, and let's keep going."
