Sam Thompson is set to be replaced by Gogglebox‘s Joe Baggs on Love Island: Aftersun.

The 33-year-old reality TV star - who first found fame on Made in Chelsea - has decided to walk away from Love Island: Aftersun in order to focus on other projects, and Joe has been lined up as his replacement on the ITV show.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Joe is a big favourite of ITV and has already been installed as part of the Britain’s Got Talent team and has been hosting launches for the channel too, including Graham Norton’s recent show The Neighbourhood.

"He’s the natural successor for Sam Thompson on Aftersun and is being lined up for that role.

"He’s such a big presenting talent and a natural fit for Love Island."

Sam - who has also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins - has decided to walk away from Aftersun in order to focus on his other career ambitions.

ITV is keen to identify new TV talent, too.

A source previously told The Sun newspaper: "Sam’s schedule is jam-packed and producers are going in a different direction so there’ll be a bit of a shake-up on Aftersun.

"ITV is really keen on harnessing new talent especially plucking from their pool of influencers and TikTokers to boost ratings.

"Sam may well return as a guest, he still loves the show, but he won’t be a regular."

Sam already has a number of other projects in the works at ITV, and although he loved his time on the show, he's now keen to explore new things.

A spokesperson for the TV star previously said: "Sam absolutely loved his time as part of the Love Island team and the show will always have a special place in his heart, but he felt 2026 was the year to concentrate on his many other ITV projects.

"Sam is a big part of the ITV family and is looking forward to his imminent I’m A Celeb South Africa Final presenting role."
