While Ariana Grande’s signature cosmetics brand R.E.M. Beauty remains highly active on retail shelves today, its original corporate framework was a major business failure. The line was originally built and managed by cosmetics incubator Forma Brands, the parent company of Morphe, which dramatically collapsed into bankruptcy in January 2023. To prevent her namesake line from vanishing from the market entirely, Grande had to step in personally during the legal fallout, executing a massive $15 million corporate agreement to buy back her own physical assets, intellectual property, and warehouse inventory.
