A Minecraft Movie

One of the world's biggest video games finally made its way to cinemas in 2025 with A Minecraft Movie, starring Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks and Emma Myers.

The story follows four misfits who are pulled through a mysterious portal into Minecraft's blocky Overworld, where they must learn to survive.

Critics were divided, but the film proved hugely popular with audiences and became the fifth-highest-grossing flick of last year.

A sequel, A Minecraft Movie Squared, is due to be released in July 2027.
