The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Mario and Luigi finally received the big-screen adventure Nintendo fans had been waiting for with the 2023 animated The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Chris Pratt voiced Mario alongside Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach and Jack Black as antagonist Bowser.

The film transported familiar elements from the games into a colourful Mushroom Kingdom adventure and became a huge box-office success, taking more than $1.3 billion worldwide.

A sequel, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, was released earlier this year.
