Sly has racked up a long list of injuries throughout his action career, but The Expendables 3 added one more.

The action star - who plays Barney Ross in The Expendables franchise - fractured his spine performing a stunt and needed a metal plate inserted in his neck.

He said: ”I had to have back surgery and a metal plate put in.”
