Linda Hamilton - Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
Once work on ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’ came to an end, director James Cameron left the sci-fi series and Jonathan Mostow was brought on to make its 2003 sequel, and Linda Hamilton was not a fan.
When the actress - who played the action heroine Sarah Connor in the first two blockbusters - sat down to read the script for ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines’, she was not impressed to find out her character was unceremoniously killed off, and so declined the offer to return for the film.
She reflected: “I read it and I knew my character arc was so complete in the first two, and in the third one it was a negligible character. She died halfway through and there was no time to mourn her. It was kind of disposable, so I said no thank you.”
However, Hamilton would later reprise her role as an embattled Sarah Connor in 2019’s ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’.
