Sir Sean Connery - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
After starring in ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’, Sir Sean Connery opted to skip the next movie.
The actor - who played the titular archaeologist’s (Harrison Ford) father Henry Jones Sr. in the 1989 flick turned down ’Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ after he announced he would be retiring from Hollywood in 2006.
Even so, Connery did reveal he spoke with director Steven Spielberg about potentially reprising his role, but admitted the negotiations “didn’t work out”.
He recalled: “It was not that generous a part, worth getting back into the harness and go for”.
Instead, the 2008 film implies that both Connery’s character and Dr. Marcus Brody - who was played by Denholm Elliott up until his death in 1992 - had passed away off-screen.
