Gremlins exist in The Goonies

After releasing his other kids’ movie ‘Gremlins’ in 1984, producer Steven Spielberg was keen to include a few cheeky nods to the film in ‘The Goonies’.

In the scene where the police officer who speaks to Chunk (Jeff Cohen) recalls one of the young prankster’s stories, he mentions the fable about “little creatures that multiply when you pour water on them” - which is a reference to how Gremlins spawn.

On top of that, ‘The Goonies’ includes Corey Feldman as Mouth, who also appeared in ‘Gremlins’ where he portrays Pete Fountaine.
