Keeping it clean

When he signed on to play Data in the movie, Ke Huy Quan had promised his mother he wouldn’t use any bad language during production, and so when he read he would have to swear in a scene, the young actor had to find a workaround.

In the sequence where rocks being to fall from the ceiling, Data was meant to shout, “holy s***”, but Quan refused to say the line in an effort to honour his promise to his mother.

So, instead, the actor simply spelt out what he was trying to say.
