X-Men: First Class

Although some were sceptical to see anyone but Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen play Professor X and Magneto respectively, ‘X-Men: First Class' proved both James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender had what it took to embody these fan-favourite characters, while telling a meaningful story that expanded on what had come before.

The 2011 blockbuster tells the story of how the iconic super-team came to be, while offering genuine emotional moments that appealed to the human side of the mutant superheroes.

‘First Class’ also introduced Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique and Nicholas Hoult’s Beast, both of which went on to become two of the biggest stand-outs in the Fox Marvel franchise.
