Mel the on-set prankster
While he had a lot of pressure weighing on him, that didn't stop Mel Gibson from joking around.
The moviemaker sometimes directed scenes speaking like 'Loony Tunes' favourite Elmer Fudd, and once cut during Murron's (Catherine McCormack) funeral scene by placing his hand around the actress playing her mother before saying, "Will you put a sock in it!", which caused her to break character.
Hilariously, Mel also started a fake rumour that Sophie Marceau (Princess Isabelle) was the daughter of French mime artist Marcel Marceau.
