First cut caused concerns
Despite being one of the most beloved movies of the '80s, 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' was not initially received very well.
In fact, when stars Matthew Brockerick, Alan Ruck and Mia Sara - who played Ferris' girlfriend Sloane Peterson - sat down and watched the flick for the first time, none of them laughed once, and left concerned they had made a bad film.
Paramount bosses were also unimpressed with the final edit of the movie, which led to John Hughes and editor Paul Hirsch frantically re-cutting the picture for two weeks.
Luckily, that fortnight of hard work paid off, as audiences adored the film when it hit cinemas.
