Ridley Scott hated the source material
‘Blade Runner’ is based on Philip K. Dick’s book ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’, so you’d think director Ridley Scott would have read it cover to cover. Well, you’d be wrong!
In fact, the creator admitted he “couldn’t get into” the story, and even told the author he found it a laborious read.
He recalled: “I actually couldn’t get into it. I met Philip K. Dick later, and he said, ‘I understand you couldn’t read the book.’ And I said, ‘You know you’re so dense, mate, by page 32, there’s about 17 storylines.’”
