Ridley Scott’s Rick Deckard revelation

Whether Rick Deckard is a replicant or not has been the source of conflict amongst fans since the movie premiered in 1982, and Ridley Scott has shared his thoughts on the matter.

According to the creator, the hero is most-definitely a replicant, which can be proved by a scene from the director’s cut where Rick is shown daydreaming about a unicorn, only for Gaff (Edward James Olmos) to leave an origami rendition of the mythical creature for him to find.

Ridley said: “The unicorn that’s used in Deckard’s daydream tells me that Deckard wouldn’t normally talk about such a thing to anyone.

“If Gaff knew about that, [the origami unicorn] this is Gaff’s message to say, ‘I’ve basically read your file, mate.’”
