Filming troubles
The first two seasons were shot entirely in Los Angeles, but because the filming permit was so high, ABC was considering cancelling the show.
However, in an effort to keep it on air, producer Henry Winkler - famous for playing Fonzie on 'Happy Days' - decided to move 'MacGyver' to Vancouver, Canada, where shooting was much cheaper.
The location also allowed the program to shoot multiple scenes on the same day but utilising other areas, including the ocean, city and forest.
Because of the move, the show went on to have another five seasons, before returning to Los Angeles.
