The longer 'MacGyver' ran it became harder and harder for the production to think of new 'MacGyverisms' to help the hero get out of sticky situations.

So executive producer John Rich decided to reach out to fans, and offered viewers a cash reward if they submitted a new scenario for the program.

One successful idea was fixing a leaking cooling system by cracking an egg into the radiator in the episode ‘Bushmaster’.
