MacGyverisms
Angus Gyver famously did not use a firearm because of a childhood accident that resulted in him losing a friend.
In the field, MacGyver would instead rely on his intelligence and ingenuity to find solutions with items he has to hand.
These solutions were known as 'MacGyverisms'.
Did you know that all of these 'MacGyverisms' - which include using low fat milk, oven cleaner, a hockey ticket, a feather quill and a walkie-talkie to diffuse a bomb - are based on scientific fact, and could work in real life.
However, in an effort to prevent children that watched the programme from attempting to recreate the experiments and potentially injuring themselves, the show never presented all of the steps needed.
